The Brave Little Rabbit
Rabbit lives in the forest with his friends: Squirrel, Bear, and Deer. They love playing in the forest. They especially like hide-and-seek, but Rabbit is always afraid, so he sits out; he doesn’t like it when the others jump out and scare him.
Life was beautiful in the forest. Squirrel, Bear, and Deer would go to Rabbit’s house for a sleepover. They played all kinds of games and loved Mama Rabbit’s carrot stew.
One day, Rabbit was out for a walk. Suddenly, he sees Fox, the bully who lives down the street. Rabbit was afraid of Fox because Fox chased him every time they saw each other. Fortunately, Rabbit’s friends were always around and would step between Fox and Rabbit just in time.
On this day, Fox chased Rabbit again. Rabbit ran as fast as he could but was so scared that he didn’t know what to do. None of his friends were around to help get in between them.
Rabbit saw Wise Old Owl’s tree. He ran and knocked on the door. “Whooooo is it?” asked Wise Old Owl. “It’s Rabbit, Dr. Owl. The Fox is chasing me, and I’m scared!”
“Do come in, young man,” replied Wise Old Owl.
After explaining what keeps happening with Fox, Wise Old Owl put his hand on his chin and looked like he was deep in thought. Then, he looked like he was asleep.
